Texwipe founder Edward Paley passed away recently at age 88 in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey, USA. A pioneer in the field of contamination control, he was a tireless inventor who possessed a prolific curiosity in solving customer problems and driving innovation in controlled environment manufacturing. In 1964 he created the first Texwipe wiper to address a problem that no one could see. The problem was microcontamination - minute particles that were creating errors on the disk and tape drives of the growing mainframe computer industry. By inventing the first low-lint cloth for cleaning computer equipment, Mr. Paley created an industry and a company which has developed into a brand synonymous with the highest standards of cleanliness. For almost 50 years, Texwipe has been a worldwide leader in contamination control supplies and critical cleaning products including lint-free cleanroom wipers, pre-wetted wipers, cleanroom swabs, sterile products, TOC kits, cleanroom mopping systems, adhesive mats and more. We thank him for his contributions to the contamination control industry and salute his legacy.
